Announcement of Winners “#WhatDidYAOKISee” Challenge

We are pleased to announce the winners of the “#WhatDidYAOKISee” challenge, a campaign inviting participants to create and share works based on lunar surface images captured by YAOKI.

We received a wide range of highly creative and imaginative submissions that reflected deep interest in lunar exploration. After careful evaluation, we have selected 8 outstanding entries as winners of this challenge.

What Did YAOKI See in the Crater That Day?

The lunar rover YAOKI, developed by Dymon successfully landed on the Moon on March 7, 2025, and captured 25 photos from inside a crater.

While all the images were taken from the same angle, we discovered that by stacking, adjusting, and analyzing them, various details became visible.

YAOKI, the Lunar Rover, Becomes the First Japanese Private-Sector Rover to Reach and Capture Images on the Moon!

March 8, 2025 – Dymon Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: 1-6-16 Shintomi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, DCC Building; CEO: Shinichiro Nakajima) is pleased to report that the lunar lander “Nova-C” (nicknamed “Athena”) of Intuitive Machines, carrying the lunar rover “YAOKI,” successfully made a soft landing on the Moon in the early hours of March 7 (JST). Furthermore, within a few hours, we successfully received photographic data captured by YAOKI. With this achievement, YAOKI has become the first Japanese private-sector lunar rover to reach and operate on the Moon.

YAOKI Prepared for Liftoff Aboard Intuitive Machines Lunar Lander

Tokyo, Japan – February 25, 2025 – Dymon announced that its lunar rover YAOKI is loaded aboard the Intuitive Machines Nova-C class lunar lander, Athena. The mission, targeted for launch no earlier than February 26, is the second trip to the Moon’s surface for Intuitive Machines.

Haigh-Farr antennas are now part of theYAOKI lunar rover!

For its first lunar mission, Project YAOKI 1 (PY-1), Dymon chose to entrust Haigh-Farr for the antenna technology of its rover. In preparation of this mission,  scheduled  from October to December 2024, Dymon’s engineers and CEO have recently visited Haigh-Farr’s US headquarters and conducted several integration tests on YAOKI, our ultra-compact lunar rover. As  a symbol of this partnership,  a replica of  YAOKI will be put on display at Haigh-Farr’s headquarters in the near future.

YAOKI lunar rover successfully tests integration with Intuitive Machines’ Nova-C lunar lander.
